The Brief

Upon receiving the brief for the House Wood's Guest Suite the room and bathroom needed a little bit of a refresh. It already had great pieces but felt a little outdated, the balance of furniture pieces slightly off and lacked the warm inviting atmosphere required for a luxurious, hotel-worthy stay.

We opted to replace a few pieces with new pieces, introduced some existing pieces that no longer suited other areas in the home, and did a complete bathroom renovation to make it feel luxurious, contemporary, and yet transitional in a sense that we were mixing old with new.

As we already tackled the rest of the home, this area needed to be refreshed and tailored to match the rest of the beautiful spaces that is House Woods.

Project progress & the design process

The project kicked off with a survey and analysis of what we could keep as well as using existing pieces such as the stunning timber wardrobe as inspiration. We incorporated the warm tones of timber and set it off with grounding charcoals and dark chocolates.

The bathroom embodied the same tones. We tied it back into the room by introducing a custom ribbed vanity reminiscent of the ribbed wardrobe and instead of wall tiles, opted for porcelain stone and Satincrete walls.

We initiated construction, demolishing the entire bathroom and once the new bathroom was ready for the final plumbing installation, the new furniture and decor pieces arrived. Amongst the new pieces were two new occasional chairs with sleek lines to replace the old chairs, new bedside tables, reframing existing artwork, a magnificent feature chandelier, and a gorgeous tall standing mirror.All the chosen pieces worked well to balance out the room and added that touch of 5-star luxury.

With a well-thought-out concept and thorough planning, this project came together beautifully and our client upon the room reveal mentioned that by far, it turned out to be their favorite room done thus far. If we don't say so ourselves, we love it just as much.
